Why Farriers Choose the Crimson Shield
Professional farriers who choose the Crimson Shield consistently come back to three things, the fit, the back support, and the tool storage.
The fit holds through the full shift. The neoprene lumbar belt supports the lower back through the trunk-flexed position farriery demands across every horse. The four knife pockets and nail magnets keep tools exactly where they were left, no hunting, no dropping, no distraction mid-job.
The black and red design is the only farrier apron in this collection with the Crimson Shield colorway. For farriers who want professional gear that stands out at the barn without sacrificing any of the protection and functionality the job demands — this is it.
Choosing the Right Length
This farrier apron comes in four lengths. 23, 25, 27, and 29 inches. covering every frame from shorter to tall professionals. The waist adjusts from 28 to 52 inches across all sizes so that part takes care of itself.
Measure from your hip belt line to just below your knee. 23 inches suits a shorter body and farriers who find standard aprons too long. 25 inches fits most average-height farriers and is the most commonly chosen length. 27 inches suits taller builds. 29 inches gives maximum coverage for the tallest professionals.
Care Instructions
- After every use, wipe down the leather with a clean damp cloth to remove dirt, sweat, and debris.
- Monthly apply leather conditioner, work it in with a soft cloth, and allow it to absorb fully before storing.
- Clean canvas and mesh areas with a damp cloth and let them dry fully before storing.
- Hang flat or on a wide hanger in a dry ventilated space, do not fold for long periods.
- Never machine wash, it destroys the leather fiber, breaks down the canvas structure, and degrades the stitching faster than any amount of regular professional use.
